HOLY CHILD College of Davao and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) partner to provide an opportunity to the Out-of-School Youth through the Opportunity 2.0 Project.
On May 21, 2021, HOLY CHILD College of Davao has been awarded a grant from the Education Development Center (EDC) through the USAID Opportunity 2.0 program for the implementation of the Youth Workforce Readiness Training Program.
In the Philippines, the USAID Opportunity 2.0 Project will strengthen second-chance education programs for vulnerable out-of-school youth. Through this project, HOLY CHILD College of Davao will become a channel of blessing for 125 Out-of-School Youth (OSY) from their partner barangays, Barangay Sto. Nio and Barangay Lubogan. The beneficiaries of this project will be able to benefit from the school’s TESDA programs, which include Animation NCII and Computer Systems Servicing NCII. Practical skills will be integrated into the youth’s training, in addition to technical skills, to help them develop real-world skills and improve their education, employment, and livelihood outcomes.
This 1-year project will be spearheaded by Elvira Grace Ponce de Leon, MBA as the Project Manager and will be assisted by multi-faceted Dr. Ma. Chrystella Suzette I. Velasco as the M&E Officer. Lead Instructors of this project are Mr. Regil De Castro, MCGA, and Ms. Liezyl Noveno.
